Illicit Antiquities Trade on Social Media (Edinburgh, Scotland)

Illicit Antiquities Trade on Social Media (24 January 2020, Edinburgh, Scotland)

The majority of looted artefacts are sold not on the dark web, but on public websites or via social media platforms. The Edinburgh Centre for Data, Culture and Society, together with the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and the Edinburgh Future Institute organise a workshop dedicated to social context of antiquity trafficking, the tools to use for finding and analysing the trafficking data effectively, and how to keep pace with the ever changing platforms. The event brings together the knowledge of archaeologists, criminologists, IT professionals and representatives of law enforcement.
